About Catching the Dream Learning Center
Catching the Dream Learning Center is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit based in Battle Creek, Michigan. The organization was founded in 2018 by a passionate group of Burmese Americans who, as an ethnic group in their native country, were persecuted and prohibited to receive formal education. Upon arrival to the United States, community leaders recognized the incredible new opportunity to receive education and participate in the community as equals. Therefore, they organized and created Catching the Dream Learning Center to support their Burmese American children as they began their new education in a foreign land.
Attendance Policy
For children to learn from our program, they need to attend regularly. Regular attendance allows a trusting relationship between the child and teachers and gives the child ample and consistent learning experiences. This will help guide them for the social and emotional interactions that will come along in kindergarten. Conversations, questions, playtime with friends, and role-play regularly will help prepare your children for future success. We are required to keep a record of attendance along with reasons for absences. If a child is to be absent, the parent is required to call the center to notify them of the child's absence and, if ill, the type of illness (communicable diseases: chicken pox; hand, foot and mouth; measles; scabies, conjunctivitis; whooping cough; lice; rubella; scarlet fever; cold; fever; vomiting; diarrhea; infection; COVID, etc).

Curriculum
Catching the Dream Learning Center will use the combination of Creative Curriculum and Abeka Preschool Curriculum that helps children to love learning, and turns play time into learning time, laying a strong academic foundation that prepares each child for the next level of their educational journey. This curriculum has been developed from a Christian worldview, planting seeds of faith in children all through the year. This curriculum is an age-appropriate curriculum for preschool that takes into consideration the differences in motor skills and cognitive abilities among preschoolers, and they will experience early success at realistic learning milestones.
